The New York State Department of Health (DOH) has updated the state's nursing home visitation guidance:
Andrus on Hudson (and all other nursing homes) are no longer required to verify visitors have a negative Covid-19 test before entry or conduct active Covid-19 screening before visiting. This means visitors will no longer have to test for Covid-19 before visiting a resident/patient.
Andrus on Hudson (AOH) will continue to do passive screening and education for visitors including: infection control signage, Covid-19 signs and symptoms and other infection control practices. This means visitors will no longer have do additional Covid screening (answering questions at electronic kiosk)
Visitors to AOH will still be required to wear a mask per CDC/ NYS regulations and AOH policy
The safety of our residents and patients are paramount. As always, please do not visit if you are experiencing symptoms of Covid-19 (or any illness that could be transmitted to residents/patients such as Flu, Stomach Bug, etc. )
If, in the future, there are high levels of Covid-19 or other illnesses of concern in the greater community, AOH may change the screening policy at the discretion of its medical staff and that change will be communicated via AOHNotify.
Thank you for your patience, cooperation and support as we have worked through these changing processes and guidance.
